Can You Use The Pittsburgh A/c Manifold Gauge Set To Service Your Car A/c

Before servicing a vehicle, confirm system refrigerant type.  Cross contagion of refrigerants can cause damage to A/C organisation, service tools and equipment.

GENERAL MANIFOLD Information:

The right (red) side of the manifold is the high side and the red estimate is the high pressure guess.  The left (blue) side of the manifold is the low side and the bluish gauge is the vacuum/pressure estimate.  Separate passages from the low and loftier side fittings to their respective gauges let one to check pressure and vacuum readings.  The manifold trunk connects all iii fittings to each other past internal passages.

SYSTEM OPERATION:

Service couplers must be connected to a refrigerant hose and the refrigerant hose must be connected to a manifold gauge set up with both low and high side valves in the closed position before connecting the couplers to an A/C System.

  1. Close all valves on the manual service couplers and manifold estimate set up. Connect the high side coupler to the high side port and connect the low side coupler to the depression side port.
  2. Starting time the vehicle. Turn on the A/C system, and let it run until gauge readings stabilize.
  3. If the pressure shown on the gauges differ from the manufacturer'south specs, determine the problem and brand necessary repairs.

Organisation EVACUATION:

  4. Later evacuating the system according to the manufacturer's specs, shut both valves and plough off the vacuum pump. Disconnect the YELLOW charging hose from the vacuum pump and connect it to the appropriate refrigerant container.
  5. After all connections accept been made, the refrigerant can be added through the low side per manufacturer's specifications.

CHARGING AN EMPTY SYSTEM:

  1. Vehicle engine and the A/C arrangement must both be off.
  2. Brand sure that the dispensing valve on the refrigerant source is in the airtight position.
  3. Make sure that both the high pressure and the low pressure valves are in their closed position.
  4. Connect both high and low couplers to the A/C arrangement's respective service ports. After connecting the couplers, open them by turning the knob on the height of them clockwise until they stop.
  5. Open valve on the refrigerant source.
  6. Open the depression side valve on the manifold gauge set.
  7. Accuse system until gauges read over 50 pounds of pressure.
  8. Close low side valve on the manifold gauge set.
  9. Plow off High Side and Low Side valves on the manifold estimate set.

CHARGING AN A/C Organisation THAT IS Depression:
